About Us
Hawkeye Jack Russell Terriers is a very small kennel in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.   We are members of the JRTCA and actively compete in terrier trials.   My dogs have excelled in many areas of competition including conformation, go-to-ground, super earth and racing.  We are also involved in hunting our dogs in the true "Jack Russell Terrier Style", in underground tunnels against formidable quarry.   Many farmers find terrier style hunting an effective way to control vermin that reek havoc on their crops.  It's also effective to get that fox that's been hanging around the hen house.   And as mentioned before our terriers are falconry dogs, flushing game for our hunting hawks.

Jack Russells are not a dog for everyone.   They have a reputation for being hyper.   Any Jack Russell deemed "hyper" is simply not getting enough exercise.   They are loyal, loving, tenacious, demanding, active, sneaky and extremely smart with drive and determination that's hard to match.   There is no quit in there little white dogs.   Obedience training is a must for these guys as well as a securely fenced yard.   Jack Russells should be leashed in public and never allowed to run free.   Fox, raccoon, badger, coyote, rottweilers, German Shepards, no matter the challenge they WILL NOT back down.   Before you decide if a Jack Russell is the right dog for you, please visit www.terrier.com, the official JRTCA web site, and read "Bad Dog Talk" and take the interactive profiler to see if a Jack Russell would be compatible with you household.
I am a falconer and that is how I got involved with the Jack Russells.  I bought my first Jack Russell "Lucy"  to hunt with my birds.  I take Lucy hunting  and she finds the rabbits for the birds to chase and hopefully catch.  I am a  member of the Arkansas Hawking Assocation, the North American Falconers Assocation and the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America.
